Roads and Oranges 97' / Road Movie / 1996
Synopsis
Daphne returns to Nicosia. Time is hers, but her uncertainty is obvious. The town and the people are static.Daphne’s sister, Anna, is a photographer. She’s confident and strong.
An announcement on the radio, about two missing-in-action Cypriots seen in Turkey, brings back in Daphne the picture of her own missing father. Anna considers the whole issue over. However, Daphne’s powerful melancholy awakens in Anna the curiosity to follow her sister on the uncertain journey into Turkey in search of the two missing-in-action men. The journey is hiding many surprises, about the people, the places, about themselves. Their return to Nicosia brings them into a city that seems “almost” the same.
