Cleo (Katerina Misichroni), by a Chinese father and a Cypriot mother, was brought up with love and light in a little village in the hills of Cyprus. On the day of her 18th birthday however she finds out that her father did not die of natural causes but was murdered by the Chinese mafia in Chinatown of Athens. Deeply wounded by the loss, she swears to take revenge. Wise Cook Lin (Richard Ng), an old friend of her father’s, takes up her training and soon his assistant, Xiao Ping (Christopher Li) falls in love with her. During Cleo’s training in cooking, great physical skills are revealed. Despite Cook Lin’s advice for patience and prudence, Cleo begins her revenge. She quickly falls in her enemy’s trap. Her mother (Themis Bazaka) carries the news to Cyprus, and Uncle Takis (Koullis Nikolaou), with Mediterranean ideas about the blood feud, comes to her rescue. Cleo continues to confront her enemies and in the process she realizes that the biggest enemy is her own dark destiny.

Trapped between a war that has drained them them and another one which will humiliate them, Brüchner’s characters struggle to interpret what it means to be Human. A young Human. With strong will. With infinte possibilites. A viceral erotic pulse moves these young people, defines the way they interact interact and compete with one another. They sychronise themselves with this pulse, like it’s the only language they can understand. In a unspoken conspiracy, they act until not a sliver of hope for the future remains anywere or in anyone. Nitche, Freud, Expressionism, the Weimar Cicle of art and the Womens liberation movement, undermine this play, although the playwrite stubbornly insists not to mention any of them. Most importantly, that which remains silenced and unspoken but completely affects the world of the play is that we are in a period of time where hope is not existent. An entire nation prepares to consciously take part, with passion and force, in one of the biggest crimes in history…Nazism.

Streetcar. Station. Desire. Stop. Cemetery. Elysian Fields. A poor neighborhood in New Orleans. Blanche arrives to reconnect with everything that connects her with a lost past. She will meet him who will destroy her past and shutter every hope for the future. Blanche is sensitive, fragile, romantic and insecure, she likes poetry and art, she loves the shadows, she seeks magic not realism, she needs to be cared for and protected. Stanley Kowalski is physically strong, has an intense sexuality, confidence and an almost inate rudeness and brutality. He screams, demands, drinks, plays cards, swears, hits. The conflict is unavoidable.

I IS ANOTHER is the title of the play by Swedish academic and playwright Mikael Azar inspired by the life and work of french poet, Arthur Rimbaud. Rimbaud may have given up writing by the age of 21 but he managed to be considered one of the most important representatives of Sympolism and to have greatly influenced modern poetry. His work and life philosophy continued to influence artits like Jim Morrison, Patty Smith, Jack Kerouac, John Lennon, and the Beat Generation in general.
Mikael Azar hands us over a play filled with the strengh of the spirit of Rimbaud, a man who wanted to live free from fear but also free from society’s bounds. The play is not autobiographical but is given breath with the love and admiration of a playwright for the phenomenon Rimbaud had been. The play runs through Ribmaud’s life, from childhood to the last years of his life, in Harar, Ethiopia.

Helge is sixty. It is a time of celebration. A time for the family to gather and smooth over the cracks left by the suicide of Linda, twin sister to Christian. As Helge’s eldest son, Christian will raise the first toast. Confined within the family house, the guests are rocked by the revelations that pierce and destroy the veneer of middle-class respectability.

An announcement on the radio, about two missing-in-action Cypriots seen in Turkey, brings back in Daphne the picture of her own missing father. Anna considers the whole issue over. However, Daphne’s powerful melancholy awakens in Anna the curiosity to follow her sister on the uncertain journey into Turkey in search of the two missing-in-action men. The journey is hiding many surprises, about the people, the places, about themselves. Their return to Nicosia brings them into a city that seems “almost” the same.
